Delete your Garage Guide account

This page explains how to delete your Garage Guide account and the information linked to it, what is deleted, and what we keep and for how long. It applies to everyone who has signed in to the app, whether or not the app is still installed. See also our Privacy Policy.

How to request deletion

Option 1: in the app (fastest)

1. Open Account.
2. Tap Privacy & delete account, then Delete my account.
3. Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.

Option 2: by WhatsApp or email

Use this if you can’t open the app or have already uninstalled it.

Write “Delete my account” and send it from the phone number registered on your account: from that number on WhatsApp, or by email that states the number. To make sure nobody else can delete your account, we may first send a verification code to that number on WhatsApp.

We process your request within 30 days, usually much sooner, and confirm to you when it is done.

What is deleted

• your account and sign-in (your phone number);
• your profile: name and language;
• your cars;
• your favorites;
• your quote requests and their photos, with the offers received on them;
• your reviews and their photos;
• your shop license photos, notifications and push-notification devices.

What we keep, and for how long

• Payment records for Featured listing orders (amount, date, plan, status and the payment provider’s reference), as the law requires us to keep financial records. They are linked to the shop’s listing, not to your profile, and are kept for the period the law requires (we understand this to be up to 5 years). We never store card or KNET details: those stay with the payment provider.
• Shops you own stay listed, without an owner. Tell us in your request if you want them removed too, and we will remove them.
• Reports you made (for example about a review) stay, without your name.
• Offers your shop sent on other people’s requests stay part of those requests.
• Backups: encrypted backups can still contain your information after deletion until they expire: daily copies for 30 days and monthly copies for 12 months. It is not used for anything else, and it is gone when the backups expire.
